2014 brought us a lot of good news of new airlines that will be operating in and out of BHX as of 2015.
Here is a list of dates of when these new airline will begin their services:
Icelandair will begin their service to Reykjavik (KEF) from 5th February. The new flights will operate twice weekly; Mondays and Thursdays, FI494 arriving at 10:25 and FI495 departing at 12:25. Operated by Boeing 757-200.
Norwegian will begin their first service to Malaga (AGP) from 30th March. Malaga flights will operate every Monday, Friday and Saturday. Operated by Boeing 737-800.
Norwegian will begin their first service to Madrid (MAD) from 31st March. Madrid flights will operate every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Operated by Boeing 737-800.
Norwegian will being their first service to Barcelona (BCN) from 1st June. Barcelona flights will operate every Monday and Friday. Operated by Boeing 737-800.
American Airlines will being their service to John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) from 8th May. New York flights will operated a daily service. AA130 arriving at 07:10 and AA131 departing at 10:00. Operated by Boeing 757-200.
Vueling will being their first service to Barcelona (BCN) from 1st June. Barcelona flights will operate three flights a week; Monday, Friday and Sunday, and grow up to four in August. Monday – YV8752 arriving at 1325 and YV8753 departing at 1410. Friday – YV8752 arriving at 12:20 and YV8753 departing at 13:05. Sunday – YV8752 arriving at 11:50 and YV8753 departing at 12:35. Operated by Airbus A320.
Not a new airline, but Emirates will be increasing their 2 daily service to 3 daily services. They will be introducing a morning flight from 1st August. Arriving into Birmingham at 07:05 and departing back for Dubai at 09:10. The third service will be operated by a Boeing 777-300 like the other 2 services.
