As a celebration of Birmingham Airport's 70th Anniversary and for the official opening of the new International Pier, two Airbus A380's visited the airport during September 2009 with proto-type (F-WWOW) making a fly-past on Saturday 5th and the first ever landing of the type with Emirates (A6-EDE) on Wednesday 9th. The airport also made this day "Retro day" which attracted many vintage aircraft visitors along with two retro jets from both KLM and Lufthansa. All the photos from the event can be viewed below.
