Terminal Information

Birmingham Airport is now a one terminal facility.
Those departing from the airport should check the flight information screens within the terminal for their appropriate check-in desk. Passengers taking hand luggage only, and that have already completed on-line or self service check-in, can proceed directly to the newly enlarged security search area. The single terminal facility will provide an easier and smoother passenger experience.

What the airport has to offer
Originally with 2 terminals, Birmingham Airport has merged its terminals with a new, improved and enlarged security search area for departures. Inbound passengers will arrive into a single meeting & greeting area. The airport terminal (originally T1) has under gone massive refurbishments and improvements and now has all the facilities needed for it to become a busy international airport. All passengers before they fly have the opportunity to look round the wide range of shops including WHSmiths, Claire's & Boots and a selection of bars and restaurants to choose from which includes Frankie & Bennies, Wetherspoons and Yates.

There are many other facilities that passengers can enjoy before flying, the airport has great executive lounges that are well-equipped and passengers can enjoy a most efficient and friendly service designed to cater for the differing needs of travellers passing through the airport.

After an extension to the main departure lounge, both Alpha Retail (World Duty Free) and Dixons have new and enlarged stores along with WHSmiths. The lounge has been brightened up with marble floors and ceiling lighting making it look spacious, pleasant and bright. For those passengers that rely on the internet & Broadband with their lap-tops, the airport now offers T-Mobile Wi-Fi through out the terminal.

The left side of the terminal (originally T2) also formely known as the Eurohub, which opened in 1991, is one of the most technically-advanced airline terminals in the world and is one of the few in Europe developed and financed by a public and private joint venture. Laing was not only the designer and builder but, together with Birmingham City Council, British Airways, National Car Parks (NCP) and Forte, was also a significant shareholder in the US$ 41 million scheme.

The departure lounge area along with the check-in area has recently been redesigned to create a much more opened environment with a selection of bars and restaurants to choose from including Wetherspoons and Starbucks. The terminal also offers all the usual facilities, including shops, car hire desks and refreshment areas. The new Executive lounge is the Terminal premier feature; further promoting Birmingham as the most popular Business Traveller airport in the country. T-Mobile Wi-Fi is available to all passengers through out the terminal building.

Since the 'one terminal' project, the original T2 airlines (these being Flybe, Ryanair & Air France) still use the original T2 building of the terminal in terms of check-in and gates, however passengers will now pass through the newly enlarged security search area. It is now also walkable through the 'one terminal' once airside with passengers gaining access to ALL shops and restaurants.
